AC Jazz Project: "Conga Buena" hits hard

Speaking of AC Jazz Project we can not ignore a Long John Oliva original leader of this proposal, who physically is not among us, but those who we met it pleasantly remember it for his contagious joy and delivery by providing the best of the.

After the death of the versatile conga player all I am there... as if they paralyzed the world, spent several years after LJO had produced their first CD's:"Lucumi"," "Buscando la Ortografia"and "Buleya", for his legacy revived.

PJ Oliva, his widow, and William Tilford with trumpeter Josiel Perez, the head, managed to gather a few, but musicians of front-line experience in other groups with a variety of styles, ands o that celebrate the release of "Conga Buena", which proved to be a success at Catalina Jazz Club in September of last year.

Josiel, a musical talent, next to Jimmy Branly (drums), Kamasi Washington (saxophone), Fermin Sifontes (piano), Luis Conte (congas), Yosmel Montejo (bass), Alberto Tamayo (vocal), Dennis Chambers (drums in "Three Nuts Rumba" achieved the objective  "Conga Buena".

And how has come to us the most recent video of AC Jazz Project from his performance at the University of California, San Diego, we want to share it with you and incidentally it's Groove that opens the CD called "Conga Buena": 'Big Bad Dena' in the drums Calixto Oviedo.

Gozalo!

Steven Kroon with "On The # 1" and part of its Brazilian soul

Born in Harlem, Steven Kroon has carved out a significant career for over 35 years. Most important has been his consistency and influence tome predecessors: Tito Puente, Machito, Tito Rodriguez and important musicians of R & B, because of that we can see a variety of rhythms in music Kroon, always within the Latin Jazz.

In his most recent CD "On The # 1", Kroon counted with the valuable contribution of Oscar Hernandez, as a composer and arranger adding nine themes rich flavor. This is the fifth CD of this remarkable conga player and percussionist, whom I bring in this nice video that can appreciate its small class Latin percussion Brazilian Sugar to continue.

Enjoy it:

New Release: Bobby Ramirez - Jazz Flute

Flute master Bobby Ramirez breaks free on this new instrumental production simply entitled "Jazz Flute" presenting a collection of American Jazz standards adding a new dimension of musical energy to these timeless Jazz masterpieces.
The first tune "All Blues" pays homage to the legendary Miles Davis while laying down a furious flute solo amidst a rapid-fire Jazz-Swing tempo, featuring Peruvian Jazz pianist Kiki Sanchez.
Next is another classic Miles Davis tune entitled "Someday My Prince Will Come." Bobby’s flute contributes to the gentle ambiance that is also captured by a cast of seasoned pro musicians, including: Jose Velasquez on acoustic bass; and Ivan Velasquez on drums, both from Venezuela.
"Stella by Starlight" is a jazz standard written by Victor Young that showcases a piano/flute duo featuring internationally renowned Grammy Nominee pianist from Puerto Rico, Jose Negroni; also is founding member of the award winning band, Negroni's Trio.
Coming back with a Jazz waltz style titled "Bluesette" is the classic song by the iconic musician from Belgian, Toots Thielemans. This track was added from a recent live performance at the Bienes Center for the Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, featuring Ryan Ellis on piano, bassist Rick Doll, and Ivan Velasquez on drums.
Ramirez brings to life on solo flute another classic standard "It Might as Well Be Spring" by Rogers & Hammerstein. Next, Bobby returns to the Jazz quartet with a wonderful Jazz ballad rendition of "When Sonny Gets Blue" composed by Jack Segal.
And finally the set ends with Dizzy Gillespie's classic composition, "A Night in Tunisia, this time featuring the pianist from Venezuela, Antulio Mora.
All photos are by Glenda R Mujer Esperanza, taken at the water’s edge near the noted sanctuary place in Miami called Ermita de la Carida Church.
Born in Santa Clara (Camajuani), Cuba, flutist, saxophonist and composer Bobby Ramirez was raised in Hialeah (Miami) Florida where he initiated his musical career, expanding over 3 decades since 1979. He is a classically trained flutist that studied with Althea Kaplan and Lisa LaCross.
His last recording was released in 2003 entitled "Pan Con Bistec" and featured the titan Jazz violinist from Uruguay, Federico Britos.
Mr. Ramirez also serves as the creative visionary, Founder and President of the non-profit Jazz Museum of Florida, Inc (dba JAZZONIAN), currently located in his hometown of Hialeah (Miami, Florida) at Excelsior Language Academy. More information at www.jazzonian.org
