First Orbit Sounds proudly announces the March 15 release of Siren Songs, the debut album from vocalist and composer Jackie Gage. Channeling torch singers of decades past, the San Jose native marks her arrival with a refined blend of sultry originals alongside newly arranged classic torch songs that showcases her dynamic range with hints of R&B, soul and jazz.

Based on the ancient concept of a siren; the womanly figure who lures desperate sailors into treacherous waters, Siren Songs takes listeners on an emotive journey of love and loss, and passion and intrigue over the course of nine songs that range from pining love stories to haunting ballads. In her native San Jose, Gage honed her voice as the sultry torch singer in town. “That identity fueled this debut,” Gage remarks.
Produced by Gage, Siren Songs features Bay Area mainstays including pianist Timothy Wat, marimbist Dillon Vado, bassist John Shifflett and drummer Jason Lewis. Also accompanying Gage on three tracks is a string section featuring violinists Ilana Thomas and Kristina Dutton, violist Su Buchignani and cellist Freya Seeburger.
The release of Siren Songs was celebrated at a sold out concert on Tuesday, March 15 at Yoshi’s Oakland in Oakland, California, joined by fellow songstress Lilan Kane.

Notes of Jackie Gage:
A velvet voice, rich as smooth wine... San Jose's Jackie Gage is the Sade of jazz; she possesses a musical grace that channels torch singers of decades past, mixing elements of jazz, soul, and modern R&B into her sound.

She grew up surrounded by icons Billie Holiday and Dionne Warwick, and grew fond of singing their lovely, and haunting tunes--those that are beautifully classified as torch songs. The mixture of powerful big bands and intimate combos, odd-meter melodies loved by Burt Bacharach, and smooth solos from live instruments fueled her identity. This modern sound is a testament to her daring perception of what "Jazz" is today.

Fresh from her sold out album release at Yoshi's in Oakland, Gage has created a musical identity in her own vein. She recently relocated to NYC, and can be seen visiting California regularly, touring the state yearly from Sacramento to San Diego.

Her music has been heard internationally, from KCSMKCRW and Hawaii's CUH, all the way to Jazz FM in England.

As a 2014 Jazz Search West finalist, she has been seen at nationally recognized venues Yoshi’s Oakland, the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, andThe Sound Room in Oakland—with notable past performances at the Fillmore Jazz Festival (2015), San Jose Jazz Summer Fest (2013, 2012), and Berkeley Juneteenth (2015, 2014) among many other venues.

Among her musical endeavors, Gage founded Fatale
, a California music house focused on presenting and promoting female artists.
